Wow, I fail at this blogging thing.

I don't want to write the history of my life. So I guess here's a quick review of the past 6 months:
February: nothing significant.
March: Spring break. I honestly don'e even remember what I did.
April: Band contest. That's all I remember.
May: School ended.
June: Girls camp.
July: EFY.

Also, this summer I've been learning how to drive and nannying these girls:

and their sister who was asleep when I took this picture. It's so so much fun, but very exhausting! They pretty much consider me their personal jungle gym.

We just came back from Nauvoo and Missouri. It was a fun trip and the country there is beautiful!

Let's see. Colorado soon! Band right after that!

Oh! Yesterday I had another sectional in the game room. It was productive, but there is always room for improvement :)

FRIDAY IS DCI! Do you know what that is?!?!?!?!? DRUM CORPS INTERNATIONAL. That means I get to see the top 10 marching bands in the WORLD perform in HOUSTON. I am so excited.

The plan is to march piccolo this year. Even though it's the same fingerings as the flute, the feeling of your mouth is completely different! It's been a challenge teaching myself how to play it and it makes me extremely light headed, but oh well I'm excited.

The chiropractor claims to be able to cure my vertigo. Sounds great, but as of now my back hurts.

Sorry if it was painful to read this, I'm scatter brained right now if you hadn't noticed. It's been a looooong day.

Lately....

See that girl up there in that picture? That's Katie Dennington. She's one of my best friends. And she's awesome. Just thought you wanted to know.

Ever since Christmas break, I feel like there isn't much going on but really there is! Let's see.
I had a birthday party with like the coolest people ever.
I went to the mall with Katie and then went to her house.
We rode the golf cart with Marshall.
Logan, Tanner, and Aunt Melissa came for a visit.
I went to a birthday party.
I went to priest/laurel conference.
I watched a high school basketball game and realized how much I miss it.
I had crazy teenage girls sleep over and went to bed 3 hours earlier than them.
Even though it was at my house.
I took a music theory test for the 6th year in a row.
I babysat for 4 hours and finally got some money because I had no cash before.
That money is for some more plans.

And those are just the weekends. Actually, the week IS boring because we mostly do chores.

This is the first year that our drumline did an indoor drumline competition. They had their first competition yesterday in Austin and ranked first in their class. Half of my best friends in the whole wide world are in it. I am so proud of them! I kinda wish I was in it playing the synth part just so I could be a part of it!

I need, so badly, to work on Driver's Ed. Stupid Box.

PROCRASTINATION. oh, and Christmas!

Wow! It has been FOREVER since I have posted anything! Ok maybe not forever, but like 5 months. This school year is going by so fast! Some classes are really easy, but there are some that I really have to work hard in! But I LOVE HIGH SCHOOL SO MUCH MORE THIS YEAR!!!!!!!! I have grown closer to the friends that I want to be closer to, and now they are my best friends EVER! Football season ended in November, and marching ended in October. Contests went better than last year, but STILL NOT GOOD ENOUGH!

Thanks for blocking part of the picture, dude.
November and December were mostly filled with lots of tests, but that's okay, I finally had time to study! It was great! I also had some great times with some of my best friends, Katie, Sarah, Marshall, and Abbi on the weekends! It was great! In this past month we have gone cow punching twice and it is SO MUCH FUN!!!!! I am definitely looking forward to doing it again!

Golf_Cart.jpg

We like riding around on Katie's golf cart!

Now it is Christmas Eve! That means tomorrow is CHRISTMAS!!!!!!! Kenny, Megan,

Will, and Breanna are all here. Jacob and Pierina are spending Christmas in Seattle with

Pierina's family, but that's ok because we got them for Thanksgiving!

Merry Christmas!

summer band

so, i was really really nervous about band tryouts today. but it ended up to be pretty good! i think i made top band again! yay! none of the freshmen are good....seriously. thats good AND bad. good because im guaranteed a spot in top band. bad because, well, we aren't gonna sound good at uil!

before tryouts we also marched. all we did was have another refresher day of how to march, which was really boring. the only good thing about marching this year is that they changed the style ever so slightly to where one of the positions is a LITTLE bit more comfortable.

the best part of today was the 2 hours between marching and tryouts. usually we have no freetime. we usually go straight from marching to practicing music. but because today was tryouts we just kinda chilled in the band hall and i got to catch up with all my friends after a long time of not seeing some of them. lets just say lots of funny stuff happened, haha.

so im really glad tryouts are over, now my only stresses are missing all of next week of marching, and then theres the summer reading projects....

my short and sweet summer.

oh! hello blog! i forgot you existed, blog. this summer has been far too short. but its been a good one.

it started with girls camp. this year was my 4th year, so i got to go on the "high adventure" at the beginning of the week. we went canoeing for 6 whole hours! wow! can you say sore arm muscles? not to mention none of us wanted to sit down....we were all sore from the canoe seats too! we camped out.....hot and sticky night! and that was followed up by a day of boating. the rest of the week was finished off with classes, skits, certification, zip lining, etc. fun fun week. a month later, i went to efy. which was about 2 weeks ago. efy, id have to say, is my favorite week of the month. so many great people who share the same standards as you! and so many classes to go to taught by amazing teachers. and not to mention my amazing counselors, becky and jonny! i learned so much from them! also, can i just say i met some of the most amazing people there? i made some really good friends at efy-tamsin, shantelle, rachel, vashni, and maddie. i wish they lived close!!! i miss them so much!

this summer we have gone to utah twice, and we still have one more trip next week. that makes four times this year. the first time we went was right before efy. we drove up. we drove through new mexico, and also flagstaff, and up through central utah all the way to provo. LONG!!!! we went on route 66, to the grand canyon, and lets not forget the exciting indian reservations we drove across! who am i kidding? those are the most boring places on earth. promise. while in utah we visited with grandma and grandma stutz once again. on the way home we stopped by the cadillac ranch in amarillo.

the second time we went this summer was this past weekend. we flew up sunday morning at eight thirty. we had a layover in denver, and almost didn't get on the plane to slc. luckily we did. we went to the viewing of out great grandfather stutz. what a wonderful man. the funeral followed on monday morning, and this morning we flew home at six am. its been a long day.

sigh. this is my last official week of summer. because next week begins the three week marching camp. HOT HOT HOT HOT HOT HOT HOT HOT HOT HOT HOT HOT HOT HOT HOT HOT. did i mention its hot out there? i guess thats what happens when you go outside for four hours in august in houston. its hot. im looking forward to learning the formations, its just the heat and the sore muscles that im not looking forward to AT ALL. oh well. this week i have to read 2 books and write dialectical journals over them. woot woot.

this summer has been far too short. but its been a good one.

eh?

I hate being sick. End of post.

1st semester.

Wow. At the end of this week I can officially say I am 1/8 done with high school. I love high school so much more than junior high. Even though there is a lot more stress and more late nights, I love all the things you can be involved in! For one, BAND. I LOVE BAND. Yes, I am a band geek and am proud to admit it! Band is great because you are around hilarious people the whole time! Everyone dreads marching practice, but riding the bus and going to football games and contests are SOOOO worth it! Aside from band, I am in basketball. Ugh. I really don't like it that much. I mean, games can be fun, but only if the WHOLE team plays well. Because some people don't always play their best and it frustrates me. Another thing for the record is that I now have made a B on a report card. Yes, that's right, a B. Sigh. Thank you geometry. Hopefully I will do well on the final tomorrow and raise it up. More to come, I'm off to bed!

yawn:0

story of my life. at least, my high school life! ever since school has started i dont think i have gone to bed before like 10 or 1030! i dont get home until at least 530 which means starting my homework around 6 or later. homework, lots of it.
it is the end of marching season, our last game was yesterday. very bitter sweet. i love marching, i love football games, but i am glad the practices are over with. now i dont have to stress over the conflict between overlapping basketball and band practices. well, only once a week anyways. for region sectionals.
this week has been rather unusual. i didnt have much homework. loved it. so much. oh so so much. i did have a paper to write and geometry and such, but i dont think i had a single night this week where i had more than two hours of homework! it was GREAT.
today was long. i got to bed last night around midnight and woke up at 8 this morning to do what but chores until 12. then we had a baby shower. tonight we went to chick fil a so parker could play on the playground. and now i am typing this because even though i know how very tired i am i dont really want to go to bed.
tomorrow after church we have super BYC. we get to plan the combined activities for next year. and dad is not here. which means the ym president is in charge. which means the voting system is monopolized and we will probably end up having paintball wars and what not. hooray. not. I LOVE SEMINARY!

10.12.2009

joy.

on saturday we went to our first band contest. we got first place in the 2a division. 2a?, you say? yes. the school is 4a, but the band is only 2a, with 52 members. crazy? yes. anyways, you can't even imagine the excitement when magnolia high school was announced first place with best music, best visual effect, best pit, best band, best drumline, and best color guard. insanity. so when we get back to the buses, what do we do before boarding? celebrate. yes, with the "B. what? B-U-L-L. thats right. D-O-G-S. uh huh. GO BULLDOGS. WHOOP WHOOP" cheer for almost 10 minutes straight. it was grand. the bus ride home was awesome. i hope this weeks competition is just as good if not better, and that uil is amazing.

a note: brazoswood high school buc marching band is AMAZING. very awesome. 5a? i do believe.

10.05.2009

4 and.....1!

AHHHHHHHHHHH! We lost the football game on friday! We were really hoping to win because then we would have been 5 and 0. Magnolia hasn't been 5 and 0 in over 30 years, or so they say. We got creamed by Willis. Honestly, not a big surprise. Well, I think we all did ok with marching. First marching competition this Saturday! I'm kinda nervous because we haven't learned everything yet! At least we still have 2 weeks before UIL!

9.28.2009

sigh.

wow. the cardboard boat races were really a blast. and very very cold. today i stayed home from school. im sick. again. i dont know why but like almost every week there is one day when i just feel down right horrible. everything is going around my school. from regular flu to swine, bronchitis to eye infections, strep, yup, just about everything. oh, and almost everyone has a cold. its pretty bad. i actually know like 4 or 5 people with swine. also, this morning, i found out that some guy who goes to my school died yesterday in a car wreck. i dont know who he is, but it is still really sad. almost every year some one dies in this school.
well, even though i am home sick, mom is still making me go to piano lessons. joy.
this is a depressing post, i know. so, to add in, i can't wait until thanksgiving!

9.23.2009

cardboard boat races.

tonight at church we are having boat races. in boats. made of cardboard. and duct tape. unfortunately, it is a bit chilly and not so good looking weather. i will let you know how it goes.

9.14.2009

back to school.

3 weeks ago. yes i have been slacking in this area. but not in homework, thats for sure! that is my whole life now. go to seminary, to school, to band, come home, do homework, go to bed. with the exception of today. i came home early sick, and so i dont have geometry homework. which means i will have twice as much tomorrow. fail.

8.30.2009
